As the Press Release sent on September 10, 2015 concerning the arrest of Tommy Woodall and Teresa Vanover stated; the
Eden Police Department Investigative Unit has been diligently working the
ongoing investigation. As a result of a
thorough follow up investigation and consultation with Rockingham County
District Attorney Craig Blitzer, Eden Police Department detectives arrested
Everett James Ferris Jr. (67) of NC 770 in Eden. Ferris was taken into custody today at
approximately 5:30pm.

Everett James Ferris Jr. has been charged with six (6) counts of
Indecent Liberties with a Minor. Additional charges are expected. Ferris
was placed into the Rockingham County Jail under a $5,000,000 secured bond and
is scheduled to appear in Wentworth District Court on October 6, 2015.
This is still an active and ongoing investigation. At this time no further details will be
released concerning this investigation to ensure the safety and well-being of
the victim(s) as well as maintain the integrity of the continued follow up
investigation.
