On Tuesday September 9, 2015, the Eden Police Department was contacted concerning the welfare of two teenage girls.  The complaint alleged that the two teenage girls were involved in an inappropriate sexual relationship with an older male and the girls’ mother was facilitating the inappropriate relationship.

Detectives with the Eden Police Department and Rockingham County Child Protective Services initiated an investigation into the allegations.  As a result of a thorough investigation and consultation with Rockingham County District Attorney Craig Blitzer, Eden Police Department Detectives arrested Thomas “Tommy” Obie Woodall (66) and Teresa Ann Vanover (52) this morning at approximately 5:00am.

Tommy Woodall was charged with twelve (12) counts of Felony Statutory Sex Offense.             Woodall was placed into the Rockingham County Jail under a $5 Million Secured Bond and is  scheduled to appear in Wentworth District Court on September 24, 2015.

Teresa Vanover was charged with twelve (12) counts of Felony Child Abuse by Prostitution.  Vanover was placed into the Rockingham County Jail under a $5 Million Secured Bond and is scheduled to appear in Wentworth District Court on September 24, 2015.
 
This is still an active and ongoing investigation.  At this time no further details will be released concerning this investigation to ensure the safety and well-being of the victim(s) as well as maintain the integrity of the follow up investigation.
