Attempted Robbery & Robbery of J-Marts in Eden

On Thursday morning at approximately 1:53am, officers with the Eden Police Department responded to J-Mart #3 located at 904 Virginia Ave. in reference to an attempted armed robbery.  Upon arrival, officers spoke with the clerk.  The clerk stated she had locked the door to clean.  While cleaning she heard someone pull on the locked door and looked up and saw two male individuals pulling on the door, one tall male and one shorter male and observed one of the males wearing a red and white Halloween mask.  The tall male yelled for her to open the door.  At this time the clerk walked down one of the isles in the store and the tallest suspect pointed a gun at her and fired three shots into the store. The clerk was not injured during the incident.  Investigators were called to the scene to investigate, while patrol officers canvassed the neighborhood. 

At approximately 2:53am, officers received a call to respond to J-Mart #1 located at 1320 East Stadium Drive in reference to an armed robbery.  Eden officers arrived and spoke with the clerk and found that a black male wearing a black, white and red Halloween mask entered the store armed with a handgun and demanded money.  The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount money.  The clerk was not injured during this incident.
